Can you guys help me with the serial number of my outboard? I'm not sure if it falls in the serial range for the model and year it supposedly is. It is supposedly a Mercury 18XD, 1985 year. The serial number on the plate on the starboard side transom bracket is A107136. Is this correct? Also, is it possible to add a kill switch (dead man switch for getting thrown overboard) to these motors? I appreciate the assistance. Gotta order some parts and need to know if this info is correct.
