Hi all,
My 1993 Skeeter with Mercury Black Max didn't come with gauges. I have installed a trim gauge and tach so far, so good.
I would like to add:
1. water temp
2. water pressure
3. oil pressure
I am not sure how to do this. I have attached 3 photo's of my motor. 1 photo of the left side and 2 photo's of the right side.
For the water temperature, I *think* I found the tan wire to be the temp sensor. What I don't understand is where the wire goes to. The boat does not have a water temp gauge. Is this part of the "alarm" and if so, do I disconnect this tan wire and run it to the temp gauge?
For the water pressure, I am not sure where to start. Any ideas based on my pictures?
For the oil pressure, is that the outlet on the right side that I have labelled "15-oily residue"? The hose that is connected to that fitting runs to the front of the motor to the carbs. The fitting that has nothing connected just has oily residue. My brother in law, who admits he is no marine engine expert, thinks it is odd that something is not connected to that fitting.
Let me know if additional info would help and I thank everyone in advance!
I like to learn this stuff but need guidance here.
Jeff
