This is an engine a friend gave it to me many years ago, and I never touch it. I am trying to remove the LU to replace the impeller . I removed the 2 bolts on the bottom Fwd and Aft and the joint shift rod. It came down like 2 inches wedging it down . Is it something else there that I need to do or is just continuing to pull it down? Thanks
 
You probably have a Long shaft motor. That has a bushing on the drive shaft to stop whipping at high speeds. Pull harder, and the exhaust crud will pull off, and it will drop.

It is not a long shaft, but anyway I will pull until it drops .
