What year is my suszuki, would like more hp??

Hi guys, I have a suzuki 9.9 4 stroke that I believe is 2006 but i would like to know how I can tell for sure as i might have to buy parts in the near future. It was given to me years ago and can remember what year is it and I tried looking at the serial number plate but is in bad shape and I can't read the info. Is white with dark blue letters and a light blue design.

Also, I would like to see if I can get some more power out of it and I believe I remember reading that I can swap the stock carb with a 15hp carb, is this true?

Is it true also that this is basically a Johnson engine, if is true are part interchangeable?
