1975 Chrysler Bass Pro with 85 Hp Force Outboiard

I recently purchased a 1975 Chrysler Bass Pro 16 with an 85 Hp Force Outboard and the steering is not right. The cable is good; but the connection to the engine is Gerry-rigged. I would appreciate any information or photos about how it should be connected.

I think that the steering cable is 90 degree splashwell mounted. It works fine; but the connector to the engine is not right.

There is a picture of the existing steering cable to outboard connection in the photos section.

Any Help is appreciated.
 
It's JURY rigged not Jerry/Gerry :)

But after 3 or 5 post you can add pics here(read the rules)

Steering.jpgThanks for your comment. However, I was thinking about a derivation of Gerry-built; but it can be jury-rigged. I believe that I can now add a photo.
