Fuel Guage Replacement

search the www for the gauge maker's site - most have those procedures...

The quick & dirty test is to remove the sender wire and then apply power to the gauge....it should go to the min reading...then short the sender lead to the negative lead and it should go full scale.....that will give you a warm and fuzzy about the gauge.

The sending units have a variable resistance output driven by the float scheme.....

Many times, the ground link (wired connection) between the sending unit and the gauge fails.....
