No engine alarm when turning ignition key on

New member. Just bought a 1996 VIP with a 3.0 mercruiser. The boat has been well maintained by previous owners but after reading articles in your forum I have found I should have a warning alarm when turning the key on before starting. I have no alarm at that point and no alarms are going off during operation. oil pressure is around 40 and water temperature doesnt climb over about 150 according to the gauges. Can someone give me some guidance on where to begin.
thanks in advance

I have a 3.0 as well and there is no alarm. It's been like that since I bought the boat 5 years ago. I keep an eye on the guages like you mentioned. If it bothers you, I'm sure you could have one installed.

Thanks for your response. I've searched the entire boat and can't find any kind of alarm device. I have been told it may not have an alarm and you've pretty much confirmed that. Thanks again..
