Desparite for help and advice

I recently bought a 1991 chris craft with OMC 460's Ford Big blocks. The first time I took it out and ran it, both engines started great and ran for several hours, But the first time I throttled down to idle the port engine cuts off, and will not restart until it cools down. This has repeated over and over. I have replaced the coil, did same thing, I replaced the distributor pick up electronic ignition module, does same thing, I replaced the distributor cap does same thing.<br>It seems the coil is hotter than it should be when I inspect the engine right after it cuts off. At this point no fire from the coil. Let it cool down and fire returns. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Which ignition system........ is it VR, photo-eye or Hall Effect?

The ignition coil determines the required voltage.
Is the ignition coil to see full voltage or resisted voltage?

Check voltage at the ignition coil that is NOT giving you any trouble.
Compare that voltage to the voltage of the one that IS giving you trouble.
