74 Pacemaker 318s

New to this forum but here I go....
I am replacing the distributor on the starboard 318 of my 1974 pacemaker and am wondering 1) Will the malory distributor plug right in (currently electronic ignition) 2) will a standard 12v coil work or do I need a marine coil, and 3)what about the "inline resistor" this is referenced. Does this coil need one or not?
