I'm a newbie to forum and boat repairs. Bought a 73 Johnson 65 hp (65ES73R) that has sat used for years. Compression is 110 across all 3 cyl and ran momentarily with help of firestart. I rebuilt all 3 carbs after soaking in carb cleaner and noted then that all three bowls were empty as expected after sitting for years. I changed all fuel lines with no luck starting it. I checked fuel pump and diaphram was torn so have order a new one. In the meantime i connected the fuel line directly to top carb and bowl appears to have filld, however, no sign of fuel in the middle or lower carb.
Question: shouldn't the other two bowls fill as well?? I wass able to blow through each fuel connection after re-doing the carbs
