1988 15 HP Johnson Power Pack, what is it and what does it do? Today I managed to install a new fuel pump and hoses on this motor, and now it keeps running. Fuel issue appears to have been solved. Still running into an issue with a misfiring cylinder once it warms up. One cylinder runs merrily along, and the other fires occasionally. The ignition system seems to consist of a "power pack," and two coils, one for each cylinder. Could someone please explain what a power pack is? I am gonna try new plugs and plug wires first on this old motor. Could the coil be failing when it warms up? And the mysterious power pack? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
