Im in the process of taking care of a pontoon boat for an elderly woman in exchange for usage of the boat. It has a 1998 Nissan NS50D2 outboard. It is stored almost two hours away. The woman claims two years ago that she hooked the battery terminals up backwards and it hasnt started since. She claims they were not hooked up long, only momentarily. Im pretty mechanically inclined but have never worked on an outboard before. Is there anything specific I should buy/ do before i make the drive to look at it? Im hoping its just an in line fuse but what should I change or look for? Thanks in advance.

Should likely just be a bad fuse.

There may be a spare on the electrical bracket/box near the CD module.
