Honda 2001 water pressure gauge installation?

My Honda 130 H.P. engine had a water pressure fitting installed into the housing for the fresh water wash out. I replaced all of the parts of that system because the previous owner did not use it and most all of the pieces were badly corroded. Before I drill into the new housing, I wanted to ask if that is the best location or is there another that is preferred and might not even require drilling.

Thanks.

Not sure what others do but I have always drilled and tapped a hole through the lower part of the thermostat casting so the the hole is about 10mm below seat of the thermostat.

That is how it was previously done. I guess I will do that again with the new parts. I didn't know if this engine had a bolt or plug for this use already.

Thanks for the responses.

There is a round flat spot on the flush valve spacer. See part #7 https://www.boats.net/catalog/honda...nge/130hp/bf130a1-la-2001/cylinder-head-cover .

That is where you are to drill the hole. Use an11/32" drill bit ....then thread with a 1/8" NPT tap.

Or drill appropriately for whatever nipple you are installing.
