Hi there. Please see attached.
I heard a squeaking at the engine so I popped the lid and noticed my idler pulley was only half way on the belt... No idea when or how this happened. Boat has run very well! Two winters ago I replaced the impeller, so it is very possible I put something together wrong?
Looks like I flipped the pump and idler brackets around. No biggie, I flipped them back the right way. Problem is, doing that creates a large gap from the idler bracket to the alternator bracket. Which is probably why I installed them the wrong way by mistake. It almost looks like I am either missing a spacer or I have the wrong alternator. Totally unable to find good images online to compare too. The schematics aren't very detailed either.
This is a 2008 Merc 350 Mag
