Good to know. I have never seen an intercooler with a hole like that before. A quick read looks like it might be something that Volvo did to deal with condensation freezing in cold climates but that was auto related rather than marine. Anyway, it seems like it has probably always been there so shouldn't be an issue.

Just installed a new turbo after 14 years of use and what a difference in performance. This is the exact replacement made in Germany that Volvo uses, a Borg Warner. The only place that this was available was at TriState Turbo in Midland Park up past Paramus, NJ. Very reputable company and Sean was very helpful and knowledgeable. Price was good also, he said it would be there in 5 days from Germany which it was. For anyone having turbo problems this is the place you want to deal with. To save you a lot of trouble do not buy chinese aftermarket, they do not fit and are reconditioned. There are no replacement parts available for these turbos they are not supposed to be repaired and they are selling them as new?*&$% .

Good news. How is the engine temp looking now?

Fingers crossed for a solid 180. That would be great after all you have gone through. Should be a few years of low maintenance now hopefully.
