power steering

I used my 92 bayliner, 4.3 merc all last summer, and then in the fall we we went back out fishing one more time and the steering was so stiff it too 2 hands to steer the boat.
Now then, the pump at the engine was full of fluid and from there I am at a loss where to go next?

without the proper gauges you cant test the system, but not greasing the steering guide tube BY HAND can result in tight steering

Ayuh,.... To get to the Problem area, ya gotta unscrew the big nut, 'n pull the cable outa the aluminum tube,....

That's where it needs the grease, or more so than the tiller end,....
 
well now, i gotta go figure this out?? It's raining for the next few days so it will be a bit before I get to it,

Well, I have not gotten up in there to have a look see, but right now I think I am in over my head. But, I will have a look see before the mech
