Hey everyone,
New here. I was doing some research and came across this site. Joined and here I am. I have a 2001 40HP Manual, last night I was adding a VR to the engine so I could install a tachometer. I decided to take a look at the plugs and noticed that after running her for about 10-15 minutes, plug #3 was somewhat wet and black while plugs 1 and 2 looked very normal, clean and dry. The plugs are 2 years old. Some of the responses to a post on this site suggested a bad reed. It just so happens that I have all new composite reeds on order for replacement. I hear that these reeds from CCMS allow the motor to idle better and run cleaner.
Thought I would just ask the question and see what the yard experts have to say.
