no spark! but have replaced the spark plugs and wires. replaced points and condenser as well as a new coil. engine turns but does not start. any help would be greatly appreciated . engine was not started for 10 years prior to me inheriting it.

When the ignition key is "on" is there +12 @ the coil? When you replaced the points did you set the gap/dwell?.... and lube the cam that the points runs on?

The ignition coil must be a correct match for your system. When you check for voltage at the coil, you'll need to know whether or not the lead offers resisted voltage or full voltage. The coil type will be determined by this.
The condenser should have also been replaced.

You may have what's called a "start-by-pass" circuit. This circuit provides full voltage to the ignition coil during starter motor operation.
If you see voltage at the coil while not operating the starter motor...... check again while the starter motor is engaged.

Set the contact points using a dwell meter..... not just by adjusting the gap.

When you do get it working, not only set BASE advance, but also look at the advance curve throughout the RPM range.
See your OEM service manual for the specs!

These older OHC 4 banger distributors are notorious for undergoing rust/corrosion at the flyweight advancing system.
Make sure that the flyweights are free and that the return springs are not rust compromised.
