Re-Powering a Pontoon Boat

I'm buying a 20' Fiesta Beachcomber that has a 50hp Yamaha installed.
The owner says that engine is good for 2 people but I want to carry 5-7 people and pull tubes/skiers for teens.
Fiesta says this boat is rated for 115hp outboard.

Do I need to buy a 115 or can I get by with something smaller (90hp, etc)

Also, I presume I need a 'long shaft' outboard?

I'm a new to pontoon boat ownership so any basic suggestions would be appreciated.

My opinion is just get a ski boat to play on and use the pontoon to relax on. You will not have alot of control with the pontoon at high speeds its not a planing hull. If you do put a larger motor be sure and prop it correctly using a cupped pontoon prop.
