I have a 2002 Mercury 115 hp outboard 2 stroke (SN: 0T526180- 2002 115EXLPTO). I have not had any issues and just recently put a new impeller and seals in it. Another boat friend of mine recommended disconnecting the oil injector due to the possibility of it failing. I noticed when I'm out in it and trim up to get on plane, I hear a constant tone coming from the motor if I trim up too much. I do not know if this is from the oil injector alarm or something else.
I have not had any issue yet with it but wanted yalls opinions. I am worried, not that my friend has planted it in my brain, that if the oil injector fails I will blow the engine.
