My 21 year old compass lost its's fluid, is there a way to refill it? It only works when boat is idling or still!
 
Usually they have a fill port....I'd suggest you need to see where the fluid went else you'll have a recurring issue.

Mineral spirits has a more appropriate viscosity.....
