In the market for an OE or aftermarket prop for my 18 HP Fastwin and I have two 9X10 parts numbers for Props that look a little different. One is more swept back.

This is the one that is on my motor now.

What is the difference in these two designs in terms of intended use?

Are the OE props better than the new Michigan ones? I'd like it to look period correct with a White Prop. If anyone knows of a great used one or old stock , please let me know.

The one with curved blades is a semi-weedless prop and was original equipment on early motors. The other one is a standard prop used in subsequent years, while the semi-weedless continued to be an option. They are interchangeable. As far as performance goes, the later one might have a very slight advantage, depending on the boat. Or not.

You probably don't need to be concerned about a slipping hub on the new-in-box one. Well, on the other hand, it IS very old. I suppose rubber does deteriorate.

Interesting name "semi weedless" are these meant to be used in areas you encounter weeds?

Yep, places like here in Florida where our lakes are sometimes called "hayfields". The idea is ok, I guess, but they would still catch a bushel basketfull of weeds on the gearcase, forward of the prop. Mercury loved it and used it to full advantage in their ads. No nose cone on a Merc. Of course that was only part of the story. But it sold a trainload of Mercs.
