80’s yamaha 9.9 to 15 conversion?

I have found descriptions and parts for 1996+ motors but can’t seem to find anything for Motors from the 80’s. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Yamaha US parts books go back to 1984.

What is it that you are looking for?

Yamaha does not offer a modification conversion kit.
 
I was looking fo tips or advice on how to convert my 9.9 to 15, there seems to be all kinds of info for other brands of motors and different model years etc. I was having a hard time finding info on my specific motor.
 
What is your exact model?

What you can do is to go to the Yam parts catalog for your model. Then open up the catalog for the same year 15. Compare the parts differences. Whatever is used on the 15 HP model can be purchased and used on your 9.9 HP model to replace the 9.9 HP equivalent parts.

Might be a CDI. Might be the carburetors. Might be the reed valves. Might be the air intake system or some part thereof.
