1975 4Hp evinrude long shaft to short shaft conversion

Hi guys and gals,
i am new to the boating world and just bought my first fishing rig and motor. i found the motor on Craigslist it is a 4506a, long shaft with the extension. i am wondering if i can take out the extension to make it a short shaft to work on my dingy. i know i will have to cut the water tube but am wondering about the drive shaft, is it one piece and i am going to have to buy a new shorter one or is there some kind of extender in the extension housing?
 
You will need shorter bolts also. Is that the weedless drive or the standard? You may be able to get a better price if you can sell the complete kit? Driveshaft, water tube and bolts with the spacer. You will probably need to pull the ppwerhead anyways to properly cut the tube. May as well just swap out the right one all you need is the gasket and grommet for the tube.
