Hey all new here and hope to be helpful in the future but right now I need help. My Nissan 40 horse has ignition issues. When you go past a 1/4 throttle the engine cuts out just like a rev limiter. Also the voltage at the battery cable is 27 volts when not connected to the battery. When the battery cable is not connected to the battery the engine will rev a little higher but till cut out like a rev limiter. I'm gonna have to guess the cdi/igntion control ? Part number 34606-2603M. What do you all think?
 
If you have external coil, the CD is:
361060601MC.D. IGNITION UNIT (CU2503)-FOR EXTERNAL COIL ONLY$320.25

I would test the CD as per the Factory service manual.
If the charge circuit is being checked unloaded, and without regulator, I would expect that voltage to be high.
