Hi all - 85hp 3 cyl force, replaced stator and trigger.. cyl 1 had intermittent spark that eventually disappeared. Prev installation had wired the two blue stator wires together into one connector like this:
Why would they do this? What does the blue wire do? supply power to the packs?
Anyway - the cdi unit came with the two wires separate on each plug - what should I do?
thanks
I found the cdi installation pdf online - much better info. Fyi the one switch pack had one free coil wire.. is is possible to use this channel if one of the others goes bad? I guess one would have to change the plugs - on my old 85 mercury you could move the wires across the brass terminals easily to troubleshoot parts.
