Hello all...

Ive been reading for years, finally joined up.

I got an older merc 200 20hp. Its a 1969 model.

It has no kill switch and i need to get one installed.
Coukd someone walk me through this?
Parts needed and some info.

Ive done some work on my evinrude but never anything like this.
Any info would be really appreciated.

That is a 1967 model is there a terminal block on the side of the ignition with two wires? If so any kill switch will work all your doing is shorting the two sets of points together. Do the plug wires go under the flywheel?

It's a Phelon mag motor--lucky for you! (The later Phase Maker was a dog.) Any good switch will work yours.

Are you looking for a lanyard type man overboard stop switch or just a stop switch ??------Best to find a boat shop for a switch or ask the shop to install one.-----No big deal.

Any marine start switch will work you should have a terminal on the side of the powerhead with two small wires from under the flywheel. Just connect the switch to those two wires.

You may need to remove the flywheel if the wires are not present but still easy enough to do take a couple pics of the sides of the powerhead.
