Hi - working on a 85hp 85 Force outboard.. Would a generic 4 pin epoxy 1000v 25a rectifier off ebay work? Also - will be removing the lower leg to do water pump, does the drive shaft seal come out from the bottom? Thinking of replacing that, along with the prop seal -

Also - not sure if the shift shaft takes a seal or not? Ill probably just get a seal kit - Anything else to look for?

thanks

Is the rectifier bad? Problem?

Is there water in the lower?
Problem? Pressure test?
There is a seal under the pump housing, be careful the housing tends to break when taking it apart.
There is a seal for the shift shaft.

The shift shaft seal, corrosion builds up under and around the seal, make sure it's spotless.
The slotted screw on the side of the lower unit, don't take it out unless it's leaking.
The oil drain is usually an allen head set screw on the bottom.Tach and stuff 003.jpg
