I have the fiberglass and was thinking I could cover the bottom and edges with glass instead of using marine plywood.
Will it work?

Ayuh,.... I wouldn't,.... The chemicals used to treat the plywood, causes massive corrosion to the hull's aluminum,.....
'n it Will leech out, 'n down through the screw/ rivet holes,....

When it cpmes to a boat dont skimp. 5/8 minimum for deck using marine plywood and then glass over it. Rough sand the aluminum so the glass has something to stick to. Use a high quality closed cell pouring foam under the deck for support and floatation. Inspect the transom for dryrot. Now would be the time to pour a nice solid transom for a permant repair.

Ok, I'll use marine plywood.
The pontoons don't leak but electrolysis has been taking place for maybe 4 years. There are spots mostly about 1/16" . it was made in 1988. I am wondering if the boat is worth spending $550 on. Tried both ways to put a picture on bot no luck.
The transom is a hard plastic or similar material.
