    They certainly look robust and likely used in military trucks / navy boats.-----Might need to look at a source for parts or make the stuff.

    They look like tank engines. M50 is an old engine. Zvezda started making marine diesel near the end of WWII. Parts may be hard to come by with the economic restrictions currently on Russia.
    http://spbdiesel.ru/en/ has parts and does rebuilds.
    You might contact military museums or other tank collectors and ask for their parts suppliers.
