Reverse Rotation Timing

Older Marine Power, Heat Exchanger, risers, supposed closed coolant system? Got the correct starter now, Dist rotating CW. The last try at TDC pointer was in the area of #3, not a big deal. Make #1 on the cap and rotate dist slowly to get a spark, lock it down, proceed CW 12756348. Pull coil wire spin it threw to see some oil pressure and try the key, hope for the best. Single notch timing cover, old school light set it for the best run performance.

I'm not certain how to read this question........... please post a few photos.

When you say "pointer" are you referring to the distributor's rotor? And does #3 refer to #3 cylinder?
