Year Question (and maybe a few more...)

Good evening, I have what I believe is a 1985 Mariner 55hp
What I'm trying to do is pin point down the exact year, it might be an 84 also. My tag reads: Mariner 55E
663. L. 316118

First, thank you for any and all help. I do have some follow up questions after the year is pinpointed. Again thank you and look forward to all help.

For best advice for other type repair questions it's usually better to post them down in the Mercury Mariner Outboard Forum main sub-forum as that's where most of the merc outboard helpers tend to hang out and get the most replies.
