My Mercury 115 OptiMax Oil Alarm started beeping.
Paid $100 to have anaylized. Found the oil tank sensor was bad.
Repair was quoted @ $800+. Said thanks took my boat home.
This sensor can not be jumped out!!! Oil can not be added to gas as the oil goes to several other places on motor!
A temp repair...
Remove the sensor from bottom of oil tank. (Requires removing the outer cover to access tank bottom.
Get 2 earth magnets. Tape them to the top of sensor.
Ohm the sensor and make sure the sensor has continuity thru it (meter rings across the 2 pins).
Wire tie the sensor to something on the motor outside of the oil tank.
Reinstall the tank...
This doesn't require draining the tank.
Save money to by a new tank... (it's Christmas time lol)
This will get you out of safe mode and a tight spot.
Note:
Must be earth magnets (got small ones from Harbor Freight) fridge magnets will not work!
Plug to computer can not be jumped out... computer is looking for an open circuit and resistance thru the sensor at the same time.

You have to change the oil tank not just the sensor.

You cannot premix a DFI engine, If you do premix the engine will come apart.

Purchase the tank and swap it out. The tank on the engine it is about $375.00 - $395.00

You can do the following at your own risk!

If you just need to move the boat, disconnect the sensor on the tank (blue wires) and hook the wires on the engine side together. This will turn off the alarm and remove the engine from guardian.
