    Default transmission comparisons

What is the difference in the housing of a velvet drive 72c series inline tranny and a 72 series V-drive tranny? Can the internal parts be swapped? I have a 72 series tranny 10-05-011 that the housing was damaged ( mounting flanges were broken off ) by running aground. I have a couple of 72c series trannies 10-18-xxx on the self in various conditions. Just wandering if parts from the 72 can be put in the 72c housing

The "7xC" designator applies to inline and V drives.....

Most of the internal are common between inline and v-drives.....in the pump and drive sections anyhow.....when in doubt, use the parts listing in the service manuals...
