1976 Chrysler 5hp gears?

I have just inherited a 5hp Chrysler 1976 twin cylinder.i have just started playing with it checking spark etc.it has great spark but what I noticed is the prop spins.i cannot find the gear lever on it.i have a 76. 4hp and it has a gear selecter under the throttle but this does not seem to have one.any ideas?

sorry yes I understand about the reverse and the the prop. What I am asking is I do not understand how to get the motor in neutral the prop spins when I use the pull starter, I wouldn't imagine a 5hp would be direct drive. Just trying t see how to put it into neutral for starts so the prop isn't turning getting in or out of the boat
 
Lots of 5 hp motors were direct drive with no shift in the old days !-----Looked at parts book for one of the 5 hp models and no shift bits are shown.
