A friend bought a 1973 houseboat with twin 6 cyl 170 HP motors. He's worried about parts. Is there a more common motor that will work with his 250 out-drives - without having to do complicated modifications?

The AQ series Volvo Penta can use the Borg Warner (slash) Volvo Penta PDS adapter housing.
This allows the use of any Engine that is Borg Warner component capable.
In other words...... if there is a B/W Flywheel Cover for the engine, it can be made to work with the AQ series drive!
