I installed a replacement coupler that is a Mercury coupler for V8 Ford applications with a Mercury stern drive. The P/N is 59826A3. The new coupler is approximately 5/8 inch shorter/longer. It appears that there will be enough shaft engagement when fully trimmed down. I am wondering if anyone knows how much shaft movement there is from teh fully trimmed up position to the fully trimmed down position. This is a 9 inch drive shaft.
