Why would you do that? OMC is junk. Get a VP lower.

Note:
1993 would be OMC ..... 1994 would be Volvo Penta.
Unless the 1993 OMC is a Cone Clutch King Cobra, it will use Dog Clutch engagement.
Dog Clutch gear selection occurs in the lower unit.
Cone Clutch gear selection occurs in the upper unit.
As you can see, none of these drive components will interchange!
BTW...... Volvo Penta has never used Dog Clutch engagement!

re:.... "needs the transom redone" What's wrong with the "transom(shield???? )"? Please note my signature block.... still has original transom shield. I replaced the original 100% OK working drive with a (salvaged from a sunken houseboat) 280 because I wanted the better internals with the higher CID/HP engine.
