I have a 1980 or so 3 hp air cooled automatic drive outboard . Iit is a sears(tanaka eska), and motor runs good. Problem is seized drive shaft clutch bowl and bearing. There are a couple of these" bowl cup drive shaft" assemblies for sale on ebay and all say seized. I can see snap rings inside but they cant be removed. The" shaft bowl" that contacts the clutch pads spins but the bearing is seized. No amount of solvent and tapping has worked for removal . A friend says to support the four corners of the housing with large bolts and press out bearing and cup assembly but i am afraid whole assembly will blow. Can anyone help me? Thank so much
