Air Intake Filter

I found I have a 1973 Johnson 6R73S, can some tell me if there is a diagram showing the air intake filter or if there ia a filter. I haven't been able to find ant information on a filter.

Nope, no air filters on outboards. You may have a plastic box over the carburetor openings that is commonly called a 'Silencer' which is intended to reduce engine noise. But, there are plenty of models out there that have nothing. From the parts diagram yours looks like one that has no cover at all.

The fiberglass motor cover is quite effective in damping the noise that used to be taken care of by the silencers on older motors. Thus no silencers any more on many models.
