Compression test with carb removed; stopping gas from being pumped out line.

I am about to do a compression test on my Volvo 3 liter. The engine has the manifold and carb off of it. I'm assuming that the fuel pump is going to be pumping fuel out of the fuel line when I turn the engine over for the test. Any advice on how to deal with this?

Find a way to safely cap off the fuel line.
The pump will think that the carburetor is full and will not receive any more fuel!

As for the cylinder pressure test..... keep in mind that the instrument and attached hose may cause the pressure to become somewhat accumulative.
In other words..... the first compression cycle may only partially pressurize the gauge due to the gauge's hose and the gauge's internal bourdon tube volume

This means that you must go through approx 3 full cycles (up to 7 revolutions) in order to obtain an accurate cylinder pressure reading!
