Ford 5.8l engine oil

Hi I recently purchased a 94 four winns with the 5.8l I can't really find anywhere telling me engine oil type. I dunno if previous guy used synthetic or conventional engine has 430hrs any help would be appreciated
 
All OMC engines call for SAE 30 above 32 degrees and 20W-20 below 32 degrees just use a high quality oil unless it has penzoil on the label IMHO
 
You can use straight 30 or the Merc/Quicksilver 25/40. I use the Merc oils and filters on my OMC 4.3 and an oil analysis showed that it protects very well.
