    Default 5.0 lx 1988 thermostat housing?

    i am confused on which thermostat housing ,i should have,currently i have thermostat that has 4 outlets ,no check ball set up,please see photos i have middle riser that they have plugged the water inlet ,my problem is the port side riser not getting much water is that because i should have thermostat housing that hoses go to riser with or without check balls my model shows 3 different version of raw water cooling which one is correct for my motor 1988 5.0lx /alpha1 gen 1 outdrive

    No, the current setup is fine with the hoses going to the bottom of the manifolds. For weak/low flow always start at the impeller

    will an automotive hose make a difference with flow

    i get good flow starboard side ,but not as much on port side

    That's usually a sign that the riser's water outlet (where water and exhaust finally meet) is plugged. The hot side riser needs to be removed and rodded out with a coat hanger stuck in a drill. Stick a water hose in there and make sure it's flowing nicely.

    thanx fast jeff gonna take off tonight we shall soon see whats going on there , I like the coat hanger in drill, idea
