I have a Belgium made mercury with serial.no 9007763
Can anyone shed light on age and size and also if it's a good motor
It is a four cylinder elec start . Sure it's a 500 thunderbolt but need

The serial makes it a either a 1972 or 1973 model.

And while the horsepower is not encoded in the serial, by process of elimination, given the serial and you stating it's a four cylinder, it must be either a 50 horse model 500 (1973) or an 80 horse model 800 (1972).

The 40 horse in that serial range only had two cylinders and the 65 changed from four to three cylinders in that serial range.

Sorry, can't be any more specific then that.
