Hi,
I recently rebuilt the upper housing on my 800 outdrive, reassembled it and tried to put it back on my boat (86 Tempest, 5 litre Chev). The drive will not extend down fully and near as I can tell, the ball gears interfere with each other and prevent the drive from locking into the holes. That would mean they weren't seated properly but I have removed both of them several taimes and have checked whether or not they insert fully and they do. Has anyone encountered this problem and how do I fix it? Thanks!
