Default Again steering issues 91 Bayliner 120 force engine

As I have read many other people with this issue, I have yet to find how to replace these bushings. The steering wheel spins fine when cable is detached, that shows me the king pin bushings are at fault. I purchased the bushings, but not before greasing the hell out of it and trying to work the motor side to side with no relief but sore arms! I have even tried using a grease gun filled with mineral spirits to hopefully disolve the old grease but that didn't help either, so anyone here replaced these bushings and what was the procedure? I am a mechanic, but not with boats but with cranes, and I have run into bushing problems on those also. Thanks to anyone! Not looking forward to this job.

The mineral spirits and a propane torch and marine grease is the ticket.
I NEVER use anti-seize on anything marine.

The bushings are REAL hard to change.

    What I have done.

At the top and bottom where the bushing would be, I installed grease fittings.

The fittings in there now are pressed in and pop out easily.
So don't use a grease gun there unless it goes in easily.

I heat the top and bottom and add grease and then turn and push the motor back and forth.

Depending on where you live the difficulty depends on the water you boat in.
    Salt water? Amost impossible.
    Fresh? Just real hard.

You pretty much need to take the motor apart to get to the bushings.

Thanks Jerry I'll give it a go. I got the boat for free and it runs! The floor and steering are all I see that is major. Came from Newport News VA Im assuming salt water.

Let me know how it comes out??
The bushings are plastic and will melt and seize if you get them too hot.

Anti sieze turns to PERMA FREEZE when around salt water and even to some extent when used in fresh water.
