starter and battery removal

Hi, I have a 1994 mariner 25hp with a bad starter and bracket so I was wondering if I could take it out along with the battery and rectifier and charging coil from under the flywheel without causing any prblems to the cdi system? thanks

Always disconnect the battery first. Once it is removed from the "mix", I see no reason you would damage the CDI system as long as removal is straight forward. Do you have a manual for the motor.

If there's a charging coil under the flywheel, it will be destroyed without having a battery to charge. That will not affect how the motor runs, however.
