My 1999 40 hp force motor has a slight miss at WOT. I have cleaned the carb and replaced fuel line and connector and checked vent and all is good. I would like to check my timing but cant find the info needed. If i check the timing with spark plugs out and wires grounded with throttle wide open do i set the timing at 32 dbtdc. I see some people say to set it 2 degrees less if doing it this way. Im not sure to set it at 30 or 32 dbtdc. I have also replaced plugs (both plugs look the same with no fowling) and fuel filter as well and compression is at top of specs. At WOT its turning 4800 rpm and it has a slight miss every few seconds that brings the rpms down to 4500.The miss is just a split second. It runs absolutely perfect until 4600 rpm then it starts having the little miss. Not sure what else to test. I would like to get it running perfect and then try to change prop and work on getting the rpm up to the 5200 mark.Any help is greatly appreciated. THANKS

Compression test?
Pull the float bowl and check for crud?
Pull the carb and check the reeds?
The tiny rubber hoses on the motor, they can get clogged.
