Was out on the boat yesterday and when I had it full out the engine started cutting out. Never died but lost power. I pulled to shore and noticed a small gas slick. I checked the fuel line from the tank to the engine and everything checked out. Went around to the back of the engine and pulled the top off it. Ran my hands where I could along the fuel line inside the engine. It's pretty tight in there so I couldn't run my hand along the whole line but my hand was dry and I didn't see any gas pooling in the engine. I pumped the outer fuel line a bit and noticed gas coming out of a small opening on the left side ( standing behind the engine ) below the trim switch on the engine. Maybe 1/2 a centimeter wide. It has threads on the outside which makes me think it may have a cap that came off? Anyone know what that little opening is and what the problem might be?
