Electical overload switches - where are they located

This is for a 99 Mercruiser 502 MAG MPI inboard engine. We replaced the alternator but did not turn off the battery when the new one was installed. Tripped the ignition circuit beaker up by the throttle. Reset this breaker. Now the engine will crank but will not start. Any help is appreciated.
 
Ayuh,.... My guess is, ya also blew the square plastic fuse where the alt. wires connect to the starter's solenoid,....
